Decision analysis for sustainable development: The case of renewable energy planning under uncertainty

چکیده

Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods are increasingly used to aid decision-making for sustainable development. However, although uncertainty is present in all decision environments, dealing with incomplete and vague information analysis remains a challenge. Our objective simplify the incorporation of scoring alternatives MCDA processes. We modified ELimination Choice Translating REality (ELECTRE) III model, which performance scores expressed as lower/upper bounds then added model’s discrimination thresholds. Unlike other approaches developed literature (such those based on fuzzy set theory), our approach does not require additional knowledge apart from understanding ELECTRE model. To test its validity suitability, we apply it evaluation renewable energy resources Turkey – hydro, wind, geothermal, solar, biomass under five main criteria: technological, technical, economic, environmental, socio-politic. results indicate that wind best alternative Turkey, followed by solar energy, line country’s Vision 2023 targets.

Considering a Model for Sustainable Energy Planning Under Uncertainty

In this paper, real options theory is utilized to evaluate the effect of uncertain electricity and CO2 costs on speculation conduct. Methodologically, the allegiance of the newspaper in this appreciation is that uncertainty is not just stopped down as far as stochastic processes and their fluctuation, additionally as far as expected and acknowledged procedures, i.e. the procedures, w...

Planning renewable energy in electric power system for sustainable development under uncertainty ¬タモ A case study of Beijing

An interval type-2 fuzzy fractional programming (IT2FFP) method is developed for planning the renewable energy in electric power system for supporting sustainable development under uncertainty. IT2FFP can tackle output/input ratio problems where complex uncertainties are expressed as type-2 fuzzy intervals (T2FI) with uncertain membership functions. The IT2FFP method is then applied to planning...

Renewable Energy Strategies for Sustainable Development

This paper discusses the perspective of renewable energy (wind, solar, wave and biomass) in the making of strategies for a sustainable development. Such strategies typically involve three major technological changes: energy savings on the demand side, efficiency improvements in the energy production, and replacement of fossil fuels by various sources of renewable energy. Consequently, large-sca...

Planning Under Uncertainty for Aggregated Electric Vehicle Charging with Renewable Energy Supply

Renewable energy sources introduce uncertainty regarding generated power in smart grids. For instance, power that is generated by wind turbines is time-varying and dependent on the weather. Electric vehicles will become increasingly important in the development of smart grids with a high penetration of renewables, because their flexibility makes it possible to charge their batteries when renewa...

The nexus of renewable energy - sustainable development - environmental quality in Iran: Bayesian VAR approach

The use of renewable energy reduces environmental pollution and leads to achievement of sustainable development. The current study investigates the dynamic interrelationship between sustainable development, renewable and non-renewable energies and environment nexus by applying Bayesian vector autoregression (BVAR) and impulse response functions in Iran with an annual data frequency for the time...
